Brown: Cerrone is not honorable, 'thinks he's above everybody'

Matt Brown is looking forward to his fight at UFC 206, and not just because of the exciting mix of styles.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Brown revealed that his previous encounters with co-main event opponent Donald Cerrone have made things personal between himself and "Cowboy."

"He's kind of a bully, I think," said Brown. "He reminds me of the senior in high school picking on the freshmen, just kind of thinks he's above everybody. It's just not the type of person that I really like to associate myself with and not the type of person that I like being part of our sport.

"He's not an honorable, respectful martial artist."

According to Brown, he and Cerrone have trained together a few times in the past and each occasion left a sour taste in Brown's mouth. He also called Cerrone out for distancing himself from the Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association once UFC president Dana White talked to him about his involvement with an organization that promises to challenge the UFC's business practices.

Looking to break out of a two-fight skid, Brown welcomes the extra motivation.

"I don't care for (Cerrone's) personality," said Brown. "I've seen him around the gym and around different places and just never cared for the way he acted. It's easy to get fired up for someone like that."
