Lesnar granted continuance, preparing to appeal USADA violation

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is putting in extra preparation for his next fight.

On Monday, Lesnar and his team received a continuance from the Nevada State Athletic Commission in regards to a disciplinary hearing for a pair of failed drug tests in July, per MMAjunkie. The 39-year-old fighter tested positive for estrogen blockers, which have been connected to steroid cases in the past.

Lesnar is currently on temporary suspension from competition. His team is seeking more time to administer their own tests of the fighter's supplements so as to mount a proper defense against the doping allegations, according to commissioner Pat Lundvall.

Also on the docket Monday were Jon Jones, for his own USADA violation, and Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for their chaotic press conference melee in August.

While McGregor's case was resolved, Jones and Diaz were also granted continuances on their disciplinary hearings.

The next NSAC meeting is scheduled for Nov. 10.

Lesnar returned to competition at UFC 200 on July 9 after four-and-a-half years away from MMA. He defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision, though that result is at risk of being overturned pending the results of his appeal.
