McGregor opens as slight favorite for Alvarez bout
Another unique challenge for Conor McGregor, and another bout where he's the early pick to win.
"The Notorious" is being pegged as a -140 favorite for his upcoming bout with lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on Nov. 12 according to Bovada.lv. This will be McGregor's first fight at 155 pounds in the UFC.
Those odds are slightly lower than the speculative odds that were laid out in August, when McGregor was in discussion to possibly fight Alvarez, Jose Aldo, or Nate Diaz. At the time, McGregor was a -190 favorite over Alvarez.
In nine previous UFC bouts, McGregor has only once been the underdog, when he faced Aldo at UFC 194 last December. He's rewarded bettors for their faith every time, save for a March loss to Nate Diaz that he avenged at UFC 202.
