McGregor takes over UFC 205 presser, predicts 1st-round KO of Alvarez

True to what Conor McGregor said just over a month ago, s--t is about to hit the fan.

The Irishman stole the show at the UFC 205 press conference Tuesday, dropping a litany of verbal gems every time the media addressed him.

When asked how he thought his headlining lightweight title fight with Eddie Alvarez would unfold, the champion cautioned McGregor to choose his words wisely. The warning was all the Irishman needed to launch into one of his patented rants, which he punctuated by predicting a first-round knockout of Alvarez.

"The Notorious" proceeded to relentlessly mock the champion, belittling him for not negotiating a bigger payday and discrediting his track record. Alvarez issued some retorts of his own, pointedly stating McGregor only had "eight minutes of fight in him." Despite hailing from nearby Philadelphia, the majority of his remarks were met with boos.

The featherweight king pandered to the crowd, boldly declaring he "runs New York City," and that his fellow Irishmen "built this freaking town."

McGregor and Alvarez will settle their brewing differences on Nov. 12 at Madison Square Garden.
