Ken Shamrock won't be fighting on home soil again for a long time.

The 52-year-old MMA legend accepted a settlement with the Texas Department of License and Regulation on July 11 that will cost him $2,500 and his combative sports license after failing a post-fight drug test following Bellator 149, according to documents obtained by MMAjunkie on Thursday.

The Feb. 16 event in Houston was headlined by a trilogy bout between Shamrock and fellow UFC Hall of Fame member Royce Gracie. Shamrock lost by first-round TKO.

Shortly after the fight, Shamrock accused Gracie of having hit him with a low blow and he attempted to have the result overturned. The status of that appeal is in limbo in the wake of Shamrock's failed test, which contained evidence of an anabolic steroid.

The earliest Shamrock can apply for another license is March 4, 2017. While the suspension was handed out by the Texas commission, other members of the Association of Boxing Commissions typically honor these rulings, meaning it's doubtful Shamrock will be licensed to fight in North America anytime soon.
