Kevin Ferguson Jr., son of the late Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, will make his professional MMA debut in August at Bellator 160, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports.

The 24-year-old Ferguson is new to MMA, having made his amateur debut in March. He won that fight with a stoppage less than two minutes into the first round:

"I was always around the fight business and everything, so I saw it and I understood what was going on," Ferguson told the AP. "I just knew without a doubt that one day, this was what I wanted to do."

"I trained (in MMA) a little bit in college, but not really," he added. "I was more focused on having fun and partying a little bit, getting that out of my system early. I trained a little bit, like once a week."

Ferguson's opponent hasn't been revealed. His fight will reportedly occur on the undercard of Bellator 160, an event headlined by former UFC champion Benson Henderson and Patricio "Pitbull" Freire.

Kimbo Slice's final fight - a knockout win that was later overturned after Slice tested positive for an anabolic steroid - came at Bellator 149. He died of heart failure in June.
