The only kicking Paige VanZant will be doing in the near future will be in the gym and in the cage.

VanZant recently signed on to appear in "Kickboxer: Retaliation," an upcoming installment in the Jean-Claude Van Damme film series.

However, during an appearance on ESPN's "SportsCenter" Thursday, the budding 22-year-old martial arts star announced that she is putting her film debut on hold with the news that she will be fighting Bec Rawlings on Aug. 27 at UFC on FOX 21.

"I've recently declined to be in the 'Kickboxer' movie because I want to be 100 percent for this fight and train 100 percent," said VanZant, according to TMZ. "That movie filming was kinda gonna get in the way. We couldn't get a date set that worked with my schedule."

VanZant burst onto the mainstream scene with her stint on the 22nd season of "Dancing with the Stars." As she shifts her focus back to her UFC career, it looks like she won't be following in the footsteps of crossover phenomenon Ronda Rousey just yet.
