Bader confirms bout with Latifi for UFC Hamburg

Troy Taormina / USA TODAY

A light heavyweight fight between Ryan Bader and Ilir Latifi is set for Sept. 3 in Hamburg, Germany, according to a Twitter video Bader shared Thursday:

Bader and Latifi were rumored to meet later this year, with UFC 205 in New York suggested as a possibility by Latifi. However, it appears they will instead become the first fight announced for UFC Hamburg.

Before a recent knockout loss to Anthony Johnson, Bader had won five straight fights, all by decision. He holds the No. 5 spot in the UFC's official rankings.

Latifi has won five of his last six, four by knockout or submission. Despite his desire to fight at Madison Square Garden, the native of Malmo, Sweden is likely relieved to get a booking a little closer to home after flying to the U.S. for his past two fights.

The UFC has yet to officially confirm the bout.
