Dana White cancels UFC 151, Jones Vs Belfort now on
UFC 152 on September 22nd in Toronto will now see Jon Jones fight Vitor Belfort.
For the first time in 11 years, the UFC has cancelled an event. UFC 151 starring light heavyweight title fight Jon Jones versus Dan Henderson has been cancelled due to a knee injury to Henderson.
After several failed attempts to secure a replacement, UFC president Dana White reluctantly cancelled the event.
"This is probably one of my all time lows as being president of the UFC," Dana White said in his press conference. "For the first time in 11 years, we're going to cancel an event. Dan Henderson has a partial tear in his MCL."
Chael Sonnen reportedly offered to substitute in place of Henderson, but Jones was advised to deny the new opponent on just eight days notice.
