Toronto UFC show features flyweight title bout between Benavidez and Johnson
TORONTO - Joseph Benavidez will meet Demetrious (Mighty Mouse) Johnson in the UFC's first flyweight world title at UFC 152 in Toronto on Sept. 22.
Benavidez (16-2) defeated Yasuhiro Urushitani in the first round of the four-man 125-pound tournament designed to produce a champion. Johnson (15-2-1) downed Ian McCall in a rematch after their first meeting ended in a draw.
The co-main event at the Air Canada Centre pits Brian (All-American) Stann against English middleweight Michael (The Count) Bisping.
In a previously announced matchup, former lightweight and welterweight champion B.J. Penn faces Rory MacDonald, a native of Kelowna, B.C,. who fights out of Montreal.
