Jack McInerney traded to Portland Timbers

Jack McInerney has been traded again.

The former Philadelphia Union, Montreal Impact and, most recently, Columbus Crew forward has been acquired by the Portland Timbers in exchange for targeted and general allocation money.

"Jack is a rare pick-up because of his reputation as a young striker who has scored goals in MLS," Timbers head coach Caleb Porter said in a statement. "We're extremely excited to have him join our club and look forward to his contributions. No doubt he will play a major role in various competitions in 2016."

McInerney, who was traded to Columbus halfway through the 2015 season, is joining his fourth MLS club in three years.

It's not for a lack of production, though: McInerney stands alone as the youngest player in MLS with 38 or more career goals and ranks 24th overall on the career goal-scoring list among active players.

With the Crew, McInerney scored two goals in five games, helping the team to a playoff finish and MLS Cup final appearance.
