Toronto FC waives contract for bust signing Ahmed Kantari

In the end, it seems Ahmed Kantari was definitively not the answer to Toronto FC's defensive woes, with the club announcing on Wednesday the Moroccan international has been waived from the roster.
Kantari, 30, joined the team halfway through the 2015 MLS regular season out of French outfit RC Lens, making 12 appearances (starting in 10) but failing to impress with Toronto.
As each club is allowed to waive one contract per offseason, Toronto FC does not need to keep Kantari against their salary cap for the 2016 season.
The team recently added defensive reinforcements in the form of league veterans Steven Beitashour and Drew Moor.
