The Portland Timbers have acquired former Houston Dynamo defender Jermaine Taylor with the 20th overall pick in the second round of the 2015 MLS Re-Entry Draft.

Taylor, 30, is a Jamaican international central defender who has spent the last five seasons with the Houston Dynamo. He has made more than 100 appearances in the league, scoring just one goal in that time, back in 2012. He joins a Portland team beginning its title defense after winning the 2015 MLS Cup.
