LA Galaxy left full-back Todd Dunivant will retire at the end of the 2015 Major League Soccer season, he announced Wednesday.

Dunivant, 34, is one of the most decorated players in MLS history, winning five MLS Cup titles, two Supporters' Shields, and a U.S. Open Cup in his 282 appearances in the league.

"I have given this game all that I can and will step away extremely thankful to have played in MLS for the last 13 seasons," Dunivant said in a statement on the team's site. "It has been an honor to represent four great clubs and is extremely special for me be a part of this league as it has continued to develop."

Dunivant was drafted sixth overall by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft. He then joined the Galaxy for one year in 2005 before heading to the New York Red Bulls in 2006. He was traded once more a season later, sent to Toronto FC. Finally, he joined the Galaxy in 2009, where he's been a regular in the back four since.

Los Angeles was where Dunivant really thrived, though - he was named in the MLS Best XI in 2011 and won several trophies with the Galaxy. He's recorded seven goals and notched 21 assists in his 13-year career.

"I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates and fans, who have offered their constant support and helped make my career a successful one," Dunivant said. "The Galaxy have played such a meaningful role during my time in MLS and I am happy to finish this season while representing this club."
