Sepp Blatter confirms FBI probe; denies avoiding United States
FIFA president Sepp Blatter denied being the subject of an FBI probe into alleged football corruption.
He did, however, confirm that former members of FIFA's executive committee are being investigated by the American intelligence and security service.
The BBC reports that the FBI probe is concentrating on American Chuck Blazer and Trinidadian Jack Warner.
The Swiss national, who is running for a fifth term as head of the world football governing body, also refuted reports suggesting he is avoiding the United States because of the investigation, saying he plans on visiting the country in June 2016 during the Copa America tournament.
"I will be there if elected. Even if not elected, they will invite me I am sure," Blatter revealed to reporters.
It will be Blatter's first trip to the United States since 2011.
Blatter went on to say that "international relationships" will make an interview possible if the FBI wishes to speak with him.
