MLS Game Summary - Colorado at Los Angeles

Carson, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alan Gordon's tally 15 minutes from time rescued a point for the Los Angeles Galaxy in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at the StubHub Center.

Coming off a 1-1 draw against New York, the defending champions came into Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten streak to four matches. Bruce Arena's side was unable to create many scoring chances without star forward Robbie Keane, but Gordon struck late on with some set-piece magic to earn the champions a point.

The Rapids struck in the final five minutes of play to open the scoring with a quick counter-attack when Michael Harrington sent a pass into space for Torres to chase. Torres beat to defenders to the ball, went in on goal alone and slid it past Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo with ease.

Los Angeles struggled to deal with Colorado's high-pressing system for much of the match and created little in the way of chances during the run of play, but Bruce Arena made one vital change, sending Gordon on as a substitute in the 72nd minute.

Arena's managerial decision paid almost immediate dividends as Gordon got on the end a Stefan Ishizaki corner kick in the 75th minute and nodded it down and into the bottom right corner of the net, past Rapids goalkeeper Clint Irwin.

Both teams sent numbers forward as the fourth official's board showed five minutes of added time, but neither side found a late winner.
