MLS Game Summary - Colorado Rapids at New York Red Bulls

Harrison, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Bradley Wright-Phillips scored on a penalty kick on Wednesday as the New York Red Bulls earned a point in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Colorado Rapids at Red Bull Arena.

Colorado went in front 1-0 in the 25th minute when Gabriel Torres cleared the defense on a free kick and redirected the Dillon Powers cross in to the back of the net.

The Red Bulls, however, equalized within five minutes. The Rapids Ben Newnam fouled Sacha Kljestan in the penalty area and Referee Mark Geiger issued a penalty kick. Bradley Wright-Phillips made no mistake and deposited the ball in the lower left corner to tie the match 1-1.

In the second half both teams sent numbers forward looking to break the tie. Both teams had chances to break the tie.

Lloyd Sam's right footed shot from outside the box to the bottom left corner was saved by Colorado keeper Clint Irwin in the 60th minute.

Just as the fourth official's board showed four minutes of added time, Chris Duvall crossed a ball to the left side of the six yard box but Wright- Phillips' header missed the left corner as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
