Altidore scores twice to snap Toronto's 4-game skid

ORLANDO - Jozy Altidore scored two second-half goals and Toronto FC beat Orlando City 2-0 on Sunday to snap a four-game losing streak.

Toronto (2-4-0), playing in its sixth straight road game, scored the initial goal of a match for the first time this season.

Altidore played a quick free kick near midfield for a give-and-go with Sebastian Giovinco in the 50th minute and Altidore rounded a defender and rolled in a goal off the far post. Altidore added another in the 83rd after getting two Orlando players to bite on a shot fake and he left-footed in his fourth goal of the season.

Giovinco has a goal or an assist in five of the last six Toronto goals. His close-range shot in the 81st minute was defended well by goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.

Ricketts made an acrobatic save in the first minute for Orlando (2-4-2) on Jackson's shot from distance. Toronto's goalkeeper, Joe Bendik, came out of his area in the seventh minute to challenge Cyle Larin for a through ball, then quickly got to his feet to block Kevin Molino's rebound attempt.
