MLS Game Summary - Orlando City at Portland

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Orlando City SC claimed it second ever MLS victory on Sunday with a 2-0 result over the Portland Timbers at Providence Park.

Orlando City has struggled a bit since earning their first win against Houston in the second week of the season as Adrian Heath's club was looking to bounce back from a last-gasp defeat to D.C. United last time out.

Portland had the first great chance of the game in the 18th minute when Darlington Nagbe collected the ball in midfield and drove down the center of the pitch before unleashing a wicked strike on goal, forcing Orlando goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts into a good stop.

The visitors opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Kevin Molino got free down the right flank to the end line and whipped it across the face of goal for Cyle Larin to knock home for his first goal in MLS.

Things took a turn for the worse for Portland with five minutes to play when Carlos Rivas went clean through on goal and was taken down by Portland goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, resulting in a penalty kick.

Kaka stepped up to the spot and blasted his strike to the goalkeeper's right and it was stopped with a dive by Kwarasey, but Kaka got a second attempt after referee Kevin Stott whistled Portland for encroachment.

The former Ballon d'Or winner stepped up again and ripped it into the roof of the net to double the Lions' advantage.

The fourth official's board showed four minutes of added time, but the Timbers could not find the back of the net and suffered the loss.
