VIDEO: Tempers flare between Porter, Pareja after Portland defeats FC Dallas

Everything seemed to be going according to plan after Sunday's match between the Portland Timbers and FC Dallas - a contest in which the former picked up their first win of the season, handing the latter their sole loss of the young campaign.

Portland manager Caleb Porter, as is customary, walked over to his counterpart Oscar Pareja to shake hands. Then things got interesting.

Porter discussed the incident during his post-game press conference, shedding some light on what, exactly, it was that he flicked back at the face of his fellow coach.

"I walked over to shake his hand and he had a tissue that he put over his nose and tried to hand me a tissue," Porter said. "So I thought it was very poor sportsmanship out of him (Pareja). I never said one word to him the whole game and he obviously wasn't happy with the loss.

"But I've never had a coach come up and disrespect me like that. So that's what happened."

If that's the case, then Porter's mocking gesture of asking Pareja to look at the scoreboard - which showed a 3-1 victory for the Timbers - was a classic response.

Pareja has yet to comment on the incident.
