MLS Game Summary - New England at Colorado

Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rapids saw their winless streak to start the season extended to four games after suffering a 2-0 defeat to the New England Revolution at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

The Rapids opened the campaign with three successive scoreless draws, but a bid for another shutout was ruled out in the 18th minute as Juan Agudelo struck for the Revs.

Kelyn Rowe, who had been New England's lone goal scorer this term following his brace last time out, played a sublime long ball over the top of the Rapids defense. Agudelo latched onto the delivery and settled the ball before lobbing a shot over the on-rushing Clint Irwin to put the visitors in front.

Colorado fell into a deeper hole just nine minutes into the second half after Charlie Davies drew a foul from Jared Watts in the box, which allowed Lee Nguyen to extend New England's lead on the ensuing penalty attempt.

The Rapids came within inches of netting their first goal of the season when Dominique Badji uncorked a shot from the top of the penalty area in the 71st minute only to see his effort rattle the post, leaving Colorado to search for its first goal and first win on Friday when the club heads to Toyota Stadium to take on FC Dallas.
