MLS Game Summary - Toronto FC at Chicago

Bridgeview, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Fire collected a second successive victory on Saturday by edging 10-man Toronto FC, 3-2, at Toyota Park.

The Fire built upon their narrow defeat of the Philadelphia Union last time out by opening the scoring in the 14th minute of Saturday's affair as Joevin Jones drifted in from the left flank and fired a shot past Joe Bendik with the outside of his left boot.

Toronto, however, leveled the score six minutes later when Sebastian Giovinco capped a superb passing sequence by slotting a right-footed shot past Joe Busch from the center of the box.

The Reds went in front in the 54th minute when Benoit Cheyrou slotted a half- volley past Busch and just inside the post, but Chicago answered within two minutes as Shaun Maloney darted inside and fired a right-footed effort under Bendik for his first MLS goal.

Toronto was reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute after Warren Creavalle received his second caution of the match, and Jeff Larentowicz made the Canadian side pay by curling the ensuing free kick just inside the post.

The hosts maintained the advantage to close out the match and improve to six points on the season, dooming Toronto to a third straight defeat.
