MLS Game Summary - Sen Jose at Seattle

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Wondolowski recorded a brace and Innocent Emeghara tacked on a third as the San Jose Earthquakes rallied for a 3-2 win over Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field on Saturday.

Clint Dempsey opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the match, pouncing on a rebound conceded by David Bingham off of a shot from Tyrone Mears and turning the loose ball into the back of the net from close range.

San Jose, though, answered in the 13th minute when Wondolowski settled a cross from Marvell Wynne and placed a low shot past Stefan Frei.

Wondolowski put the 'Quakes in front in just the third minute of the second half, scooping up a failed backpass from Brad Evans and hammering a powerful shot past Frei at the near post.

San Jose was reduced to 10 men just four minutes later when Victor Bernardez was issued a red card for a brutal kick directed at Michael Azira, but Emeghara extended the club's lead in the 70th minute, working a neat one-two with Adam Jahn before curling a right-footed effort past Frei.

Obafemi Martins pulled one back for the Sounders six minutes from time, but the hosts were unable to conjure an equalizer, making the Nigerian's strike merely a consolation goal.
