Denver - Major League Soccer's top players will try for their third victory in four years over a top global club at the 2015 MLS All-Star Game on July 29 at suburban Denver.

The North American league, set to kick off a 20th season in March, announced Wednesday the date and site for the annual matchup but did not announce the opposition for the match, which will see Colorado Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni guide the elite talent on his team's home pitch.

"We are thrilled to bring the All-Star Game to the region," MLS commissioner Don Garber said.

The MLS All-Stars beat Bayern Munich 2-1 last year in Portland and downed Chelsea 3-2 in suburban Philadelphia in 2012, dropping a 3-1 decision to Roma at Kansas City in 2013.

In the only other MLS All-Star match played in Denver, the MLS squad beat Celtic 2-0 in 2007, part of a run of five MLS wins in a row before back-to-back losses to Manchester United in 2010 and 2011.
