Seattle Sounders right-back DeAndre Yedlin appears more set than ever for a move to Tottenham.

Sources close to Major League Soccer confirmed Monday that Yedlin has been granted a U.K. work permit known as a Governing Body Endorsement, validating a report by Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People. With the documentation, the 21-year-old will now be able to complete his impending move to White Hart Lane during the January transfer window.

Yedlin had been attempting to acquire a Latvian passport - his grandmother is from the Baltic nation - as he feared that he wouldn't be granted a U.K. work permit, but those concerns are now a thing of the past.

Since signing with Seattle as a Homegrown player ahead of the 2013 MLS season, the youngster has garnered praise for his speed and ability to dictate play on the right flank. His three appearances for the U.S. Men's National Team at this year's World Cup took the hype surrounding him to another level, reportedly leading Roma, Anderlecht and Werder Bremen to make offers for his services.

Assuming his transfer to Tottenham goes through, Yedlin will be competing for playing time with fellow right-back Kyle Walker, a player he's been compared with because of their similar skill sets.
