Former Arsenal legend Thierry Henry retiring from professional game
PARIS - French striker Thierry Henry announced Tuesday he was retiring from professional football after two decades in the game to become a TV analyst.
"After 20 years in the game I have decided to retire from professional football," Henry said in a statement on his Facebook page.
Henry, 37, will be remembered for his time with Arsenal, and leaves football as the English club's all-time leading goal scorer, with 228 goals.
The Frenchman scored 411 goals in 917 career games with Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus, Monaco, and New York. He added 51 goals for his country in 123 games. His mantle's full, too, as he won two Premier League titles, three FA Cup titles, two La Liga titles, one Champions League title, and a World Cup in 1998 with Les Bleus.
