MLS Game Summary - Real Salt Lake at Vancouver

Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC overturned a second-half deficit to collect three points from a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake at BC Place on Saturday.

The hosts had a tremendous opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty kick in first-half stoppage time, but Pedro Morales was denied by Jeff Attinella on the ensuing attempt.

That miss loomed large as Salt Lake went in front in the 57th minute with Nat Borchers heading home a brilliant ball from Javier Morales.

But Vancouver's Morales eventually made amends for his miss by leveling the score in the 62nd minute, firing home another penalty attempt after Erik Hurtado was brought down in the box by Carlos Salcedo.

The comeback was complete 12 minutes from time and it was Morales at the helm again, this time turning in a loose ball in the box for his team-leading 10th goal of the campaign.

It proved to be enough for the 'Caps to escape with a victory as the club improves to 40 points on the season to move ahead of the Portland Timbers in the race for the final playoff berth in the Western Conference.

Real Salt Lake, meanwhile, remains on 49 points to stay in third place.
