MLS Game Summary - Chivas USA at Toronto FC

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Gilberto scored a goal and assisted on another as Toronto FC coasted to a 3-0 win over Chivas USA at BMO Field on Sunday.

Gilberto set up the opening goal for Jackson in the 23rd minute, and after Luke Moore made it 2-0 to the hosts on the stroke of halftime, Gilberto found the net himself nine minutes after the break, snapping TFC's six-game winless skid.

The result moves Toronto to within three points of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, while Chivas has lost its last six games.

It was a clever backheel from Gilberto in the 23rd minute inside the area that allowed Jackson to take a touch and drive a shot toward goal that took a deflection on its way past goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.

Moore nearly made it 2-0 in the 31st when some good work by Daniel Lovitz on the left wing set him up for a flicked shot from seven yards that hit the crossbar.

But Moore made the most of his next chance just before halftime when Michael Bradley's corner kick was played to the back post for Nick Hagglund, who nodded the ball back to the front of goal for Moore to finish from close range.

Toronto made it 3-0 from another corner kick in the 54th as Bradley redirected a low cross through traffic to the back post for an unmarked Gilberto to apply the final touch.

The two sides played the final 25 minutes with 10 men after Chivas midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker and TFC's Jackson were both sent off after being involved in an altercation.
