MLS Game Summary - Vancouver at FC Dallas

Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Blas Perez scored in the 78th minute to lift FC Dallas to a 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday at Toyota Park, handing Dallas its fifth win in the past seven games.

Perez scored in the 20th minute to put Dallas in front, while Vancouver leveled the contest in the 67th through Erik Hurtado.

However, Perez struck again 12 minutes from time to continue FCD's push for a playoff spot, handing the Whitecaps their third defeat in five games.

The first-half goal scored by Perez came from nothing as he took possession of the ball on the right wing and appeared to float a cross into the penalty area. The ball continued to carry and it flew over the head of Vancouver goalkeeper David Ousted and inside the far post.

Ousted redeemed himself a bit on the hour mark as he produced a fine stop to keep out a shot from Fabian Castillo that kept his side within a goal.

And seven minutes later, Hurtado capitalized on a counter attack as Mauro Rosales slipped a ball into the box that Hurtado slotted past goalkeeper Raul Fernandez.

A free kick for Dallas 12 minutes from time led to the winning goal as Ousted was unable to keep hold of an effort from Tesho Akindele, allowing Perez to score on the rebound.
