MLS Game Summary - Houston at Columbus

Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Meram scored a goal and assisted on another as the Columbus Crew rolled to a 3-0 home victory against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.

Meram was on target after 35 minutes before turning provider for Adam Bedell in the 59th.

Aaron Schoenfeld then scored five minutes later to lock up the win for the Crew, who have won four of their last six games to continue their push up the Eastern Conference table.

Crew goalkeeper Steve Clark made a big save on Will Bruin after a turnover in the Columbus defensive third to keep the game scoreless, and Meram put his team ahead 10 minutes before the break when he stole the ball from Houston's David Horst and took a few touches before slotting his shot past netminder Tally Hall.

The Dynamo struggled to get much going in attack on Saturday, and Bedell doubled the Crew's lead in the 59th when he got on the other end of a cross from Meram to head the ball beyond the reach of Hall.

Five minutes later, Schoenfeld made it 3-0 to put the result beyond reach as Waylon Francis got down the left wing and crossed for Schoenfeld, whose flicked header found the net.
