The New York Red Bulls have moved quickly to fill the international roster spot vacated by Gideon Baah, with Fredrik Gulbrandsen set to arrive from sister club Red Bull Salzburg.

Multiple sources have told ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle that an initial one-year loan for the three-time Norwegian international is imminent, with the forward apparently confirming to tabloid Verdens Gang that his visa is cleared for the transfer.

Baah was condemned to a season-long spell on the injury list due to a serious leg ailment he received in July of last year, allowing new sporting director Denis Hamlett to sight a new marquee player to add to the Red Bulls. Now it appears he's decided to provide additional support to Bradley Wright-Phillips with the international slot.

Gulbrandsen, 24, only moved to Salzburg from Molde in his homeland last summer but has struggled to impose himself in the Austrian Bundesliga. He fared much better for his previous club, with the versatile frontman fashioning three goals in six starts before he left.

He hasn't started for Salzburg since November, and overall has scored just twice in 17 outings.
