No sooner than he arrived, Jose Salvatierra's time in MLS has ended, with FC Dallas announcing Tuesday it has parted ways with the Costa Rican newcomer after he failed his fitness and medical examinations.

"Unfortunately, Jose did not pass all the required physical fitness and medical exams," Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo said in a statement. "We wish him the best of luck moving forward."

The 27-year-old Costa Rica international was loaned to Dallas earlier in the offseason out of Alajuelense but failed to secure a spot in Oscar Pareja's side. He came into the team having played 155 matches in the Costa Rican first division as well as having earned 30 national team caps.

Dallas also announced it has mutually parted ways with academy graduate Moises Hernandez, who signed as a Homegrown Player in 2010.
