Manager Greg Vanney allayed fears that Toronto FC would be forced to enter its first ever MLS Cup final without its most important player, Sebastian Giovinco.

The Italian star was forced to leave Wednesday's thrilling Eastern Conference final against the Montreal Impact in extra time when he appeared to sustain a leg injury after a non-contact play.

He limped off the pitch shortly after to make way for Benoit Cheyrou, who went on to score the winner before Tosaint Ricketts' goal ensured TFC a place in the final.

However, Vanney insisted that cramps were behind Giovinco's substitution and that the 2015 MLS MVP should feature in the final on Dec. 10 against the Seattle Sounders.

"He was cramping up so it was nothing too much more than that. He couldn't get it to go away," Vanney told reporters. "Him cramping on the field was not going to be advantageous at that time of the game so that was it. He'll be ready."

When asked by theScore for an update on his status, Giovinco offered the following to a group of reporters, via translator:

"It happened that I ended up hurting my leg and I had to get subbed out," Giovinco told reporters in the locker room after the match. "Let's hope it's nothing serious.

"Cramps are never anything too serious. By tomorrow, it should all be normal."

Though his otherworldly skills weren't necessary to TFC's success against the Impact on Wednesday, it's likely all TFC fans will let out a collective sigh of relief after learning Giovinco will suit up for the most important match in the club's history.
