2016 MLS Power Rankings: Week 33

Week 33 of the 2016 MLS season saw D.C. United and the Montreal Impact clinch playoff berths. With just one match left in the campaign, four post-season spots remain up for grabs.

Here's how each team ranks after the penultimate week of action:

1. FC Dallas

  • Last Week: 2-1 win vs. Seattle Sounders
  • Next MLS Match: Sunday, Oct. 23 at LA Galaxy (4:00 p.m. ET)

2. New York Red Bulls

3. Toronto FC

6. LA Galaxy

7. Real Salt Lake

8. Seattle Sounders

9. D.C. United

10. Montreal Impact

11. Philadelphia Union

12. Sporting Kansas City

Sporting Kansas City saw its hopes for a playoff spot evaporate in this lackluster draw, one of only a few this season. Peter Vermes needs more ruthlessness here.

13. Portland Timbers

  • Next MLS Match: Sunday, Oct. 23 at Vancouver (4:00 p.m. ET)

The Portland Timbers were in danger of losing out on the playoffs but with a win over Colorado, and some other favorable results, they're right back in the race.

14. New England Revolution

15. Vancouver Whitecaps

16. San Jose Earthquakes

17. Columbus Crew

18. Orlando City

20. Chicago Fire
