On the heels of a stunning late brace against D.C. United, which included a 93rd-minute winner that vaulted New York City FC atop the Eastern Conference standings, Frank Lampard was named MLS Player of the Week on Tuesday.

It's the second time Lampard has received the weekly honor this season.

Thursday's come-from-behind victory at Yankee Stadium was a celebratory affair for Lampard. Prior to the match, he was honoured for 300 career goals between West Ham, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Patrick Vieira's high-flying NYCFC.

Whether or not the club got its math right is another matter, though there's no taking away from the fact that Lampard has been stellar this season. The 38-year-old midfielder has 11 goals in 16 appearances for NYCFC, which is a point clear of rival Red Bulls for first place.
