Toronto FC announced Thursday the club has signed Panama attacking midfielder Armando Cooper on loan from Arabe Unido through the end of the season with a purchase option at the end of his contract.

Cooper, 28, joins the Reds having earned 74 caps for Panama, and was a member of the roster for the 2016 Copa America Centenario. He joins a Toronto FC side looking to bolster its attacking options down the final stretch of the 2016 MLS season.

"Armando is a versatile midfielder who can play multiple positions and add depth to our roster," Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a club statement.

"His range of experience with both club and country will be an asset as we continue our push for the playoffs. We are pleased to get this deal finalized and integrate Armando into our group."

Cooper has been a member of Arabe Unido since joining the club in September 2015. His loan spell runs until the end of the season, a club representative told theScore, and includes a purchase option that often comes standard in loan deals signed by Major League Soccer.
