Colorado-Los Angeles preview

The Los Angeles Galaxy will try to remain undefeated at home and extend their MLS unbeaten streak to nine games when they play host to the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Colorado (11-3-8) is second in Major League Soccer's Western Conference with 41 points, three points behind first-place FC Dallas. The Rapids are coming off a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Marlon Hairston and Dominique Badji scored goals in the win over the Whitecaps as Colorado rebounded from its first loss in 16 MLS matches. It was Hairston's third goal in the last four games.

Los Angeles (9-3-10) and Real Salt Lake are tied for third in the Western Conference with 37 points. Los Angeles stretched its MLS unbeaten streak to eight games with a 2-2 draw against the New York Red Bulls last weekend, but the Galaxy are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to FC Dallas in U.S. Open Cup competition on Wednesday.

Ashley Cole scored in the 89th minute to help Los Angeles salvage a point against New York. Giovani dos Santos recorded an assist for the third consecutive game.

Los Angeles and Colorado are meeting for the third time this season. Marco Pappa scored five minutes into second-half stoppage time to give the Rapids a 1-0 victory March 12 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. The teams played to a scoreless draw June 22 at the StubHub Center.

The Galaxy are one of four teams that have not lost at home this season. The Rapids haven't won at the StubHub Center since 2013.

Robbie Keane and dos Santos have scored seven goals apiece for Los Angeles, which is tied for fourth in MLS with 37 goals. Mike Magee has scored six goals. Gyasi Zardes has five.

Kevin Doyle leads Colorado with four goals. Jermaine Jones, Shkelzen Gashi, Luis Solignac and Hairston have scored three goals apiece.
