Colorado Rapids trade for Le Toux, send Solignac to Chicago

The Colorado Rapids made a pair of moves Wednesday night, acquiring winger Sebastien Le Toux from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for general allocation money (GAM) and then moving Luis Solignac to the Chicago Fire - also in exchange for GAM.

Le Toux's trade comes hours after the Union acquired Alejandro Bedoya as a Designated Player. It is the second time Le Toux has been traded from the Union - the first coming in 2012, when he was sent to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

"Sebastien has been a wonderful servant to the Philadelphia Union and we cannot thank him enough for his exemplary time and commitment," Union sporting director Earnie Stewart said in a statement. "We want to wish him the best of luck in Colorado and in his future endeavors."

Solignac's trade comes as a result of bringing on Le Toux, and he departs from the club having tallied three goals and four assists in 33 appearances.

"On behalf of Colorado Rapids, I thank Luis for his service and wish him well for his future career," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a statement.
