The Columbus Crew announced Saturday the club has acquired forward Adam Jahn from the San Jose Earthquakes in a trade for targeted allocation money (TAM).

Jahn, drafted by the Earthquakes in 2013, has six goals in 62 games and joins a Crew team in need of forward depth after trading Kei Kamara to the New England Revolution.

"We are pleased to welcome Adam to Columbus Crew SC as he provides valuable striker depth for our club in the second half of the season," Crew head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a statement. "Adam has a strong physical presence, excellent work rate, and is a threat inside the penalty box. We look forward to his arrival to Columbus and integrating him into the team."

Jahn made 26 appearances last season for the Earthquakes but spent part of the season on loan with the Sacramento Republic. He scored earlier this season against D.C. United in April.
