Report: Orlando's Larin linked with Sporting Lisbon
Canadian international striker Cyle Larin has emerged as one of MLS' best attackers, and that's sparked speculation about a continental move to join Primeira Liga side Sporting Lisbon.
The Orlando City FC forward has scored 26 goals in his year-and-a-half with the second-year side and was named MLS Rookie of the Year last season after netting 17 times in 27 matches.
Whispers earlier this week about a potential move to Europe became more prominent Wednesday when Portuguese paper O Jogo reported the robust 21-year-old is being pursued by Sporting, as relayed by MLSSoccer.com.
According to O Jogo, Larin is "one of the names that ... is being evaluated to meet the intent of (Sporting manager) Jorge Jesus," with a fee for the 17-time capped international reportedly in the area of $4.4 million.
