New York City FC's much-maligned midfield star Frank Lampard is rewriting his less-than-stellar MLS reputation with a bang, scoring his fourth goal in the last five matches Sunday night against Sporting KC.
Once again, Lampard's smart positional awareness proved key in scoring, with the former Chelsea man camping in the box and waiting for a low, driven pass from out wide to tap home with power and accuracy.
While Lampard's goal gave NYCFC an equalizer to bring the score to 1-1, the Pigeons conceded another goal two minutes later to give Sporting KC a 2-1 lead.
