The 2016 MLS All-Star team is finally starting to take shape, with the league announcing the fan-voted starting XI on Saturday featuring stars like Kaka, Sebastian Giovinco and Didier Drogba, among others.

New York City FC captain David Villa was voted in via EA Sports' FIFA 16 in a competition that allowed fans to cast a submission by scoring goals within the game; Villa finished atop the virtual pile with over 800,000 goals scored and is joined by teammate Andrea Pirlo in midfield.

LA Galaxy star Giovani Dos Santos pipped teammate Steven Gerrard for the starting spot in midfield and is joined by the Portland Timbers' Darlington Nagbe.

The Philadelphia Union's young core is also well-represented, with 25-year-old goalkeeper Andre Blake and 22-year-old rookie defender Keegan Rosenberry making the final cut.

The starting XI is rounded out with Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler and Montreal Impact defender Laurent Ciman, the latter returning from Euro 2016 as a member of Marc Wilmots' Belgium squad.

Notable absences include Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley, Seattle Sounders ace Clint Dempsey, and the LA Galaxy's Robbie Keane, Ashley Cole, and Nigel De Jong. Though, they will likely make the final 23-man roster.
