The New York Red Bulls weren't done scoring after a 7-0 drubbing of New York City FC a week ago. Toronto FC found out the hard way Saturday, as Bradley Wright-Phillips needed just 27 minutes to score three goals, setting a new MLS record.

Wright-Phillips' record of 27 minutes marks the fastest hat-trick scored from the start of a match: LA Galaxy forward Harutyun Karapetyan holds the fastest overall record with his three goals in five minutes against Dallas in 1998.

The English striker scored his first off a free-kick swung in by Sacha Kljestan in the fourth minute, then added a second 10 minutes later, burning Toronto's back line with a cut-in shot to goalkeeper Clint Irwin's nearside.

Three minutes later, an unmarked Wright-Phillips scored his third, leaving Drew Moor on the floor following his shot.

To compound Toronto's woes, star forward Sebastian Giovinco exited the match in the 22nd minute with an adductor injury.
