Dos Santos stays hot as LA Galaxy draw Sporting KC

Kansas City - Giovani dos Santos scored to help the Los Angeles Galaxy tie Sporting Kansas City 1-1 and extend its unbeaten streak to six games Sunday night.

Dos Santos slipped behind the Sporting defense on the counterattack and chipped the ball, high over the head of hard-charging goalkeeper Tim Melia in the 42nd minute. It was the Galaxy's only shot on goal in the first half.

Ashley Cole received two yellow cards in a minute, leaving Los Angeles a man down from the 70th minute on.

Brad Davis scored for Kansas City in the 30th minute. He cut back to evade a pair of Los Angeles defenders and a blasted a left-footer, past a diving Brian Rowe, into the upper-left corner off a header from Graham Zusi​.

Sporting KC (4-4-2), which outshot Los Angeles 17-4 and nearly doubled the Galaxy in time of possession, is winless in its last five matches.

Dos Santos has four goals and two assists in his last three games.

The Galaxy (4-1-3) leads MLS with 18 goals.
