Emmanuel Boateng bombarded down the left flank for 90 minutes against Real Salt Lake, causing problems all night long as the LA Galaxy routed their opponents 5-2 at the StubHub Center.

And for those efforts, the Galaxy youngster has been named MLS Player of the Week for the eighth round of the 2016 season.

Boateng scored one goal and recorded two assists in the Galaxy's dismantling of Real Salt Lake, setting up Mike Magee in the 26th minute before scoring his own to make it 3-1.

He then added another assist, finding Giovani Dos Santos to make it 4-1 before half-time, capping off his second start with a complete attacking performance worthy of recognition.

"Man, he was fun to watch," Magee said of his teammate. "You know he had a couple of games where I thought he didn't feel comfortable. Sometimes when things don't go your way games get tough. But he probably was the best player on the field."
