Kamara, Crew beat 10-man Dynamo 1-0
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Kei Kamara scored on a penalty kick in the 21st minute and the Columbus Crew beat the 10-man Houston Dynamo 1-0 on Saturday night.
Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric was sent off in the 18th minute for denying an obvious scoring opportunity. He dove and tripped Crew (2-3-2) midfielder Federico Higuain as he raced past Deric for a loose ball in the 18-yard box. Kamara put the penalty kick into the right corner.
Backup goalkeeper Joe Willis entered as a substitute for Collen Warner to fill Deric's spot in goal.
The Dynamo dropped to 1-4-2.
