Report: TFC lands former DC United president Payne

In their effort to rebuild a franchise that's enjoyed little success during their brief history, Toronto FC has lured D.C United President Kevin Payne to BMO Field, according to a report from the Washington Post's Steven Goff.
Payne enjoyed mixed results in Washington. After initial success, the club endured a five year playoff drought that was broken this past season with an appearance in the Eastern Conference finals.
Payne is expected to serve as Toronto FC's technical director, with holdovers Earl Cochrane and Paul Mariner staying in their current roles.
