TFC eliminated from Champions League

Toronto FC continued their miserable season with a 1-0 loss to Mexican side Santos Laguna in Mexico on Wednesday evening. Herculez Gomez netted the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute.

With the loss, TFC was eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League in disappointing fashion just one season after making a run to the tournament's semifinals, where they were also dispatched by Santos.

Toronto sits in last place in the MLS, with just five wins from 33 matches in league play, and has gone 13 straight MLS matches without a win.
