Ortiz rocks hoodie underneath Red Sox jersey

Playing in the final Opening Day of his career, David Ortiz is out there making fashion statements.

Ortiz is wearing a red hooded sweatshirt underneath his Boston jersey on Tuesday amid the record-setting 34-degree temperature at Progressive Field in Cleveland. The extra layers appeared to serve Big Papi well after the Red Sox slugger doubled into deep center in his second at-bat off Indians ace Corey Kluber for the first hit of his 20th and final season. Ortiz announced last winter that he plans to retire at the end of the 2016 campaign.

On Monday, Ortiz said he's "locked in" for his farewell season, which could potentially include a number of personal milestones. He's seven homers shy of tying Carl Yastrzemski for second in franchise history, 48 RBIs back of Jim Rice for third all time in franchise history, and could finish as high as 19th on the majors' all-time home run list with another 30-homer effort.
