There's never a shortage of emotion when Marcus Stroman takes the mound, and he's taking full responsibility for a heated exchange with Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Logan Morrison in the season opener.

"Maybe he thought I was yelling at him, but I was yelling at myself," Stroman said postgame about the fifth-inning incident, which the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher deemed a "miscommunication."

Morrison believed Stroman was yelling directly at him, but also admitted he forgot the hurler routinely lashes out at himself on the mound. He was curious postgame about what Stroman was yelling about.

Morrison, who went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, popped out to make his third out of the game, and was then shown barking from the dugout at Stroman, who appeared to respond using profane language.

Stroman, making his first Opening Day start, pitched Toronto to a 5-3 victory, tossing eight-plus innings and striking out five.

The two American League East rivals will play the second contest of a four-game series at Tropicana Field on Monday.
